Eames Wire Base Elliptical Table

SKU: ETRT Made To Order

Dubbed the “surfboard” table when it originally came out in 1951, this design is both playful and practical.

The Eames Elliptical Table, often referred to as “surfboard” table, offers 89″ of table length. Designed in 1951 after the Eameses perfected a manufacturing technique for welding wire-rod bases (see LTRs). Charles and Ray decided to bridge two of the wire-rod bases together, and the Elliptical Table was born.
It pairs perfectly with a long sofa, and it’s low profile and wire base legs allow for a table of such size to remain sleek and not overwhelm a grouping of seatings.
The tabletop consists of a seven-ply Baltic birch core sandwiched between high-pressure black or white laminate. The 20-degree beveled edge gives the top added emphasis.
