Declared the “Best Design of the 20th Century” by Time magazine, this chair by Charles and Ray Eames is still crafted using the groundbreaking plywood molding techniques the duo invented in the early 1940s

The Eames® Molded Plywood Lounge Chair with Metal Base, is a classic example of the Eameses philosophy of using honest materials. The chair, designed in 1946, uses two pieces of molded plywood to create supreme body-cradling comfort. The gently curves and comfort created from the molding process from a hard material established a foundation for future modern design.

A chair whose process to make and timeless design earned it the right to be named the Best Design of the 20th Century by Time Magazine, the runner up being the steam locomotive.
