Something About Photography

DATE - 1976

Charles Eames is widely considered one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century, and in this film he expresses his own philosophy of picture taken by emphasizing the advantages of immediacy through the use of instant photography. Charles considered the camera to be an indispensable tool – a way to have your cake and eat it too. In the film’s narration, Charles stresses that the picture taker need only look at the people, and the everyday events and things he cares deeply about, to find the most meaningful subjects for photographs. 20th Annual San Francisco International Film Festival Participation as Communication Competition, 1976.
