Computer Perspective

The Eames Office based this film on their 1971 exhibition, A Computer Perspective, produced for the IBM Corporation.

The film is a visual survey exploring important milestones in the development of the electronic computer through filming the collection of artifacts, ideas, events, and memorabilia displayed in the exhibition.

A Computer Perspective conveys the progression of events in science, technology, history, and business (from 1890 to 1950) that culminated in the electronic computer. Charles and Ray were able to show this development through a rapid succession of still images and live-action footage, a hallmark of many of their films and slideshows.
