Chair Camp at ArtPrize

Posted August 27, 2014

Chair Camp is just around the corner!  Classes will take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in collaboration with ArtPrize Education Days.

Chair Camp is a series of hands-on design workshops for students, grades K–12, created and led by Carla Hartman, Education Director of the Eames Office and granddaughter of legendary designers Charles and Ray Eames.  Using recycled materials provided by Learning from Scratch, students construct miniature model chairs that remain on display until the event’s close.

This is the third year in a row that the Eames Office has collaborated with ArtPrize.  This year, in addition to the sessions for K–12 school groups, the Chair Camp program will also include a session for families.
