Eames chair stars in new Bobby Fischer movie Posted May 3, 2014 by Daniel Ostroff

When my friend, Gail Katz, was going into production on her new movie, PAWN SACRIFICE, I  put her in touch with Herman Miller‘s Mark Schurman and Marg Mojzak.

In 2013 producer Gail Katz needed a particular model of the Herman Miller chair, an Eames chair which is still in production, and Herman Miller rose to the occasion, just like they did for the original event.

Pawn Sacrifice” is set to come out in 2015.   It tells the story of Fischer as he prepares for the famed 1972 World Chess Championship against Russian Boris Spassky, which Fischer won while sitting in an Eames executive chair by Herman Miller in Zeeland.

In total, four Eames Executive Chairs are used in the film.
