Photography at the Museum of Modern Art

On four occasions, world renowned photography curator, Edward Steichen, featured Charles Eames in his landmark exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art.

Charles’s work appeared in the following exhibitions:

Photographs by 51 Photographers (August 1 – September 17, 1950)
Abstraction in Photography (May 1 – July 4, 1951)
and
Photographs from the Museum Collection (November 26 – January 18, 1959)

This 1952 publication features highlights of the first fifty years of the Museum of Modern Art’s Photography collection.

The highlights include an abstract photograph, seen below, by Charles Eames.
