Demetrios & EamesPosted May 9, 2017
May 11 – July 21, 2017: Join Gensler San Francisco Art Committee for its spring exhibition, Demetrios & Eames.
Gensler San Francisco Art Committee’s spring exhibition, Demetrios & Eames, is a partnership with Aerena Gallery celebrating three generations of Eames designs.
Ray and Charles Eames laid the foundation for American mid-century modernism. Together, they made contributions in modern architecture and furniture and worked in the fields of industrial and graphic design, fine art, and film.
Daughter Lucia Eames is best known for her designs rendered in laser-cut carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and bronze, while granddaughter Llisa Demetrios, a bronze sculptor for over 20 years, creates large-scale sculptures often displayed in outdoor settings and portraying the passage of time.
