Screening: Love in the Afternoon at C-mine

Posted February 17, 2017

April 13, 2017: Join C-mine for Billy Wilder’s film Love in the Afternoon, whose title screen and opening credits were designed by Ray Eames.

Charles and Ray Eames were close friends with renowned filmmaker, Billy Wilder. They made photographs of his many film sets and gained inspiration for their Eames Chaise after learning that he’d take cat naps on a narrow plank of wood stretched across two saw horses.

In 1957, Ray Eames designed the title screen and opening credits for Wilder’s 1957 romantic comedy Love in the Afternoon, staring Audrey Hepburn, Gary Cooper, and Maurice Chevalier.
