Posted March 7, 2018

March 10, 2018, 10am – 7pm: Enjoy a day of free screenings with over 24 short films on architecture and design, including Elephant Safari: To the Source and Ice Cube Celebrates the Eames.

Architecture and Design Film Festival is putting on a day of FREE screenings of over 24 short films on architecture and design. Hosted by Helms Bakery District, the line up includes Elephant Safari: To the Source and Ice Cube Celebrates the Eames, both of which will be screening at our partner Vitra‘s California location.

Elephant Safari, by Eames Demetrios, features the lovable Eames Elephants encountering their larger cousins and coming face to face with rhinos during their African safari. Ice Cube Celebrates the Eames features the famous rapper, who explains his love of architecture and how the work of renowned architects Charles and Ray Eames inspires him. It is directed by Dave Meyers and filmed by the cultural collective Pacific Standard Time.

To see additional films at SFW: LA, pop into any of the other five participating showrooms on the walk, including Arcana Books, Harbour Outdoor, H.D. Buttercup, Room & Board and Scandinavian Designs, to experience a unique program of films curated by Architecture & Design Film Festival.

The films will be shown on a loop and play throughout the day so guests have an opportunity to see dozens of film shorts as they walk from showroom to showroom. The SFW:LA will conclude with the screening of a feature length film, Building Hope: The Maggie’s Centres, followed by a conversation with Frances Anderton, host of KCRW’s Design and Architecture along with special guests.
