An Eames DCW is spotted on the cover of Art & Auction magazine, September 2011 relating to the cover story: “L.A. ready for its closeup” “With this fall’s opening of Southern California museum exhibitions and countless gallery shows on postwar Los Angeles, that cultural moment may seem to be experiencing a a sudden resurgence of interest.” But in fact, the Getty-backed Pacific Standard Time initiative was more than ten years in the making.” Your editor is grateful to James Zemaitis, senior Vice President of 20th Century Designs at Sotheby’s New York, for the very accurate shout out: “…many curators, including Daniel Ostroff, who organized the Eames show opening next month at A + D Architecture and Design Museum, Los Angeles–feel that they (Eames Herman Miller production furniture) are the most perfect expression of the designers’ art.”
It seems to me that the chair on the cover, a Herman Miller Eames production DCW, proves the point.
